The “Fangs and Fur” cruise departing Jan. 2 from Miami will feature all things vampire and werewolf. The cruise on Carnival Liberty will visit Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios. Special guest will be screenwriter and screenwriting teacher Judy Burns, who has written for “Star Trek,” “Mission Impossible,” “MacGyver” and more. Burns will discuss how to enrich enjoyment of the Gothic fiction genre and how to write books, screenplays or short stories that people will buy. Participants will screen “Twilight” and two other features with Burns providing live commentary and discussion. She will provide insight into each film and the issues a screenwriter faces in adapting a best-selling book. She will go over what works and what doesn’t in these three films, and what to expect in the upcoming sequels. Aspiring and professional writers can get notes on projects, do some writing and presentation, and even have short scenes acted out by the group.
